We are coming upon our 8th anniversary at 223 Marcellus Street on June 30th, which is more than half our life as Isaiah’s Table. Looking back, there have been so many ups and downs. I don’t think any of us expected what the Spirit had in mind for us- I know we never imagined serving 60+ people each week for breakfast and having full tables for worship plus people online! (Who knew about Zoom until the pandemic?).
We had our first adult baptism plus a reaffirmation of baptismal vows in April. Our community also had another person join in a covenant relationship in November. It’s wonderful experiencing growth in both our general/larger community as well as within the smaller circle of committed members and leaders. The Spirit also keeps providing new volunteers to help with breakfast.
We are blessed to have received two new grants to purchase nutritious protein-rich foods for our outdoor pantry cupboard. They came from Fairmount Community Church and DOT Charitable. We also received offerings from several partner churches plus regular giving from Robinson Elmwood United Church.
We have received our 5,000 pairs of Bombas socks and are giving them to community members plus sharing them with other community organizations. We look forward to distributing the harvest from Matthew 25 Farm this summer. We’re also growing a few things of our own in the garden boxes outside the building.
So much good news, so many blessings, so looking forward to what the Spirit has in the works for our ninth year in our “new” location!
