It’s been a busy (and hot) summer for the Isaiah’s Table community. We moved on June 30th after our final worship service in the former First Presbyterian Church United’s chapel. In the past month we reclaimed the overgrown landscaping outside our new building and planted some vegetables. In addition, we began going out into the neighborhood with vegetables from our partners at Matthew 25 Farm in mid July, which has been the best part of our Saturdays. It’s a wonderful, diverse new neighborhood for us and we are so excited and grateful to be there!
On Saturday, August 11th, from NOON – 1:00 we are holding a free chicken barbecue lunch for anyone and everyone to visit our new space. We hope many old and new friends will come and say hello!
New for Isaiah’s Table is our fellowship/community building time on Tuesday afternoons at 1:00 pm. We gather for a time to create art. So far we’ve made a new prayer board for worship, new banners for our space and have decorated a front window with a mosaic, “stained glass” design. In August we will be making an outdoor prayer board and various “stepping stones” to enhance our outdoor space, among other projects.
Beginning in mid September our Tuesday afternoons will become a new “drop-in art program” called Good Creations. This will be a time for people to come and work on various personal art projects. There will be healthy snacks and fellowship as well. Watch for more information on this new ministry at Isaiah’s Table.
Hope to see YOU at the Table!
