The theme for worship this month is Prayer. We will explore different forms of prayer each week. We have added two prayer boards to which we add our post-it note prayers. The children are learning the words to the Lord’s Prayer. It’s a wonderful way to officially “launch” Isaiah’s Table: Grace, Hope, Food for All!
Speaking of “official launch”, we will welcome sisters and brothers in Christ from the Presbytery of Cayuga Syracuse on Saturday September 8th for worship with Communion. We will celebrate this new thing God is doing at Isaiah’s Table. The worship service will be followed by a presentation by Maggie Carter, Bob Wind and Nancy Wind about Isaiah’s Table and the Evangelism/Church Growth conference they attended this summer.
When you stop by to visit Isaiah’s Table, please take a look at the flourishing garden outside as well as the inside space that we are using in the Chapel and the former music office (which now has a food pantry storage area, office area AND children’s worship center).
The website has been updated with events that have been planned for each Wednesday evening at 6:30 at the Table. We are using Wednesdays for Spiritual Nurture activities including Bible study, book discussions and special worship services. We will begin each Wednesday with some simple nourishment (soup and bread, or cheese and fruit).
We had 30 people attend the FPCU Reunion Dinner in late August. It was great to see friends and have a meal together. We will plan another reunion dinner VERY SOON! It will be on a Saturday evening, so watch the calendar.
Grace and hope abound!
