As you may know, Isaiah’s Table was asked to vacate the former First Presbyterian Church United campus by June 30th, because the Missio Church needs the space for their growing immigrant ministries.
Isaiah’s Table is excited to announce that we found a great new space on the Near West Side of Syracuse, at the corner of Marcellus Street and Niagara. We will be leasing the building from Home Headquarters. We are grateful for the 6+ years we cost-shared with Missio Church for the space in the former FPCU chapel and are happy that they will take over the food pantry ministry that serves that neighborhood.
We are eager to begin a new chapter in the life of Isaiah’s Table in our new neighborhood, which is just over 1/2 mile from our current location. The building offers a perfect opportunity to grow our ministry in a new way, a drop-in center which will include a creative expression ministry, modeled after a program we visited at Common Cathedral in Boston. We hope to offer a safe place for people to come, grab a cup of coffee, and connect with the Spirit through art, music, and other forms of expression. Stay tuned for more information about this, which we hope to kick off in September. If this is something you might want to be involved in, please contact us!
In the meantime, we will continue with our Saturday community breakfast (First Saturday at new location- JULY 7th) followed by worship and our fresh produce distribution afterwards. We are looking forward to getting out in our new neighborhood, meeting people, and creating new relationships as we continue to build up those relationships that have been made these past six years.
God is so very good, answering our prayers with this beautiful new space that is absolutely what we named in prayer. The Holy Spirit has been leading us thus far and we can’t wait to see what she has in mind for us next!
